With 25,000 new diagnoses every year, breast cancer is currently the one that most affects women in Spain. And in the world produces more than 450,000 deaths a year. Therefore, it is one of the most studied and known conditions. But, still, it still hides many secrets.

Recently, a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with the Institute of Biomedical Research with the URV has managed to unveil a new mechanism of action that can be used to combat this type of cancer. And is that the tumors of breast cancer depend, according to evidence, of external fat. That is, they need to collect outside fat to keep growing.
