NEW EUROPEAN CODE OF MEASURES AGAINST CANCER

NUEVO CÓDIGO EUROPEO DE MEDIDAS CONTRA EL CÁNCER

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) today presents the fourth edition of the European Code against Cancer in Spain with the participation of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology.

Based on available scientific evidence, the code identifies twelve healthy lifestyles and promotes disease prevention in Europe. This is the result of a two-year collaborative project involving oncologists and other experts from across the European Union.

This collection emphasizes the importance of avoiding tobacco, alcohol, and excessive sun exposure, and praises the benefits of sport and maintaining an adequate body weight. In addition, it invites participation in screening programs for colon, breast and cervix cancer.
