SCIENTISTS OBSERVE FOR THE FIRST TIME HOW SKIN CANCER IS BORN

LOS CIENTÍFICOS OBSERVAN POR PRIMERA VEZ CÓMO NACE EL CÁNCER DE PIEL

A team of scientists from the University of Cambridge (UK) and the Free University of Brussels (Belgium) have for the first time seen how a tumor is born in the skin from the first "cell of origin" and have observed its Training process.

In their study the researchers explain that skin regeneration is possible thanks to progenitor cells from stem cells, which divide and become fully functional cells. However, if that process fails because DNA is harmed or the oncogenes activated, which are responsible for transforming normal cells into malignant ones, tumors may appear. More information.
